PRINCIPAL CONSULTANTS/MANAGERS :
 
Wm. C. Humphries, Jr. , Chairman of the Board
Billy graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. Degree in Forest Management in 1965. He worked with private industry in timber procurement and forest management until founding the company in 1970. Since then, aside from managing and developing this business, he has served as a guest speaker for many state and national meetings, has written various articles, publications and teaching manuals, and serves on numerous boards and committees. He is Past President of the Association of Consulting Foresters of America, Inc. and a member of the Georgia Forestry Association, and is a Candidate Member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. He has served as Chairman of the Georgia State Board of Registration for Foresters and is a registered forester in Georgia. He is also a licensed Georgia Real Estate Associate Broker.
 
Billy's many contacts developed over the years allow the firm to stay in touch with much of the activity and trends in the forest industry. We believe this knowledge of the industry is a tremendous asset to our clients. Billy continues to assist with special large projects and other activities within the firm when his experience and judgment are deemed beneficial.
 
David T. Foil, President
David, a shareholder in FRC, graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. Degree in Forest Management in 1981. He worked with St. Regis Paper Company and J. T. Strahan Timber Corporation before joining FRC in 1988. He is a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters and is a registered forester in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina and a licensed Real Estate Broker. He is Past President of the Georgia Forestry Association, where he still serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. He is also Past President of the Georgia Chapter of the Association of Consulting Foresters.
 
David is responsible for directing and managing the firm. In addition, he also handles many special projects, serves as the firm's Georgia Broker, and is primarily responsible for new business development. David's excellent organizational and administrative skills and his aggressive patience in managing difficult projects contribute to the firm's effectiveness and ability to accept challenging assignments.
 
W. Richard Humphries, Vice President/Chief Appraiser
Richie has been with FRC since 1988 and is a stockholder in the firm. He graduated from Mercer University with a B.B.A. in Business Management and Duke University with a M.F. in Forest Resource Management. He is a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters, a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina, a Georgia Registered Forester, an Associate Member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, and Licensed Real Estate Salesperson. In addition to general company administration and new business development, Richie also works on large appraisal assignments and special client projects.
 
Richie’s understanding of forest management economics, persistence at seeking out information, and steady common sense approach to evaluating a task are natural abilities required to develop reliable forestland appraisals and investment analyses. His ability to effectively manage large, complex forest appraisal projects and other unique valuation issues is widely recognized in the forest industry and forest investment community.
 
Michael H. Smith, Consultant and Eastern Operations Manager
Mike joined the firm in July of 1999. Mike is a 1975 graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.S. Degree in Forest Resources and was previously employed by Union Camp Corporation where he served for 19 years in various capacities in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama. His last position was as Area Manager of the 234,000-acre Chapman Forest in Chapman, Alabama. He has served on the Forest Practices Committee of the Alabama Forestry Association. He is a registered forester in Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi, a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters, and also serves on the University of Georgia Alumni Steering Committee.
 
Mike is responsible for overall forest management services, supervising a staff of foresters and technicians, as well as assisting the firm with consulting services to various private landowners and forest products companies. In addition to day-to-day operations, Mike’s ability to effectively coordinate personnel enables him to efficiently and accurately execute large projects.
 
Randy B. Shaw, Consultant and Western Operations Manager
Randy is currently Western Operations Manager and manages FRC's office in Picayune, Mississippi. He is a 1977 graduate of Mississippi State University with a B.S. Degree in Forest Management. Prior to joining FRC in 1992, Randy served as procurement forester and forest manager for a south Mississippi sawmill and timber operating company. Randy is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Mississippi and has extensive experience in intensive silviculture. He is a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters and serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the Mississippi Chapter of the ACF. He is Past Chairman of Pearl River County Forestry Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Forestry Association. He is a registered forester in Mississippi.
 
F. Daniel Rock, Director of Real Estate Sales
Dan Rock joined FRC in March, 2003 as Director of Real Estate Sales. Dan’s addition allowed us to expand our real estate acquisition and disposition services more broadly and aggressively. Dan has a B.S. Degree in Forestry from the University of the South and a MBA from William and Mary. Dan worked 16 years in the forest products industry, primarily with Chesapeake Corporation in Virginia, and is a registered forester in Georgia. Prior to joining FRC, Dan worked in the real estate business, most recently concentrating in land and commercial real estate sales with Fickling & Company. Dan holds an Accredited Land Consultant designation through the Realtor's Land Institute (RLI) and is Past President of the RLI Georgia state chapter. He is a licensed Georgia Real Estate Associate Broker.
 
Charles D. Hogan, Account Manager
Charles joined FRC in 1997. Prior to that time, Charles was in timber procurement for two years and served as forester with a large consulting firm. Charles received his Associate Degree at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and his B.S. Degree in Forest Management from the School of Forest Resources, the University of Georgia in 1989. He is a registered forester in Georgia. Charles’ responsibilities include oversight and implementation of management activities on private, non-industrial client forestlands. He also organizes and supervises many of our large forest inventory projects and assists with the firm's appraisal projects.
 
Larry Grace, Account Manager and Real Estate Sales
Larry strengthened the firm’s staff of quality practitioners when he joined FRC in 1991 after 15 years as a valued employee with a Middle Georgia timber and land company. His experience has been varied, including all phases of forest management, property sales, and acquisitions. Larry has an Associate Degree in Forest Technology from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (1975) and was one of the state’s first technicians to be licensed as a registered forester. He is also a Georgia licensed Real Estate Salesperson. Larry manages forestry operations for many of our clients and is active in property acquisitions and dispositions within FRC's Brokerage Services Group.
 
Brian Stone, Appraisal Services Manager
Brian joined the firm’s appraisal group in 2001 after graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resources and a Master’s in Forest Business. In addition to Brian’s formal education, his early exposure to the business through a Georgia family timberland company has helped him easily recognize and interpret those issues that impact rural property values. Brian serves as the firm’s Appraisal Services Manager. Brian is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and a Candidate Member of the American Society of Farm Managers & Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA). He is also a Georgia registered forester and an active member of the Georgia Forestry Association and the Society of American Foresters.
 
William G. Robertson, Account Manager
Greg joined the FRC staff in September, 2006 as manager of our Camden, Arkansas office. He spent 26 years in land and timber management with International Paper and more recently worked as a procurement forester with a South Carolina based timber company. Greg graduated from Mississippi State University in 1979 with a B.S. Degree in Forest Management. He is a member of the Arkansas Forestry Association and a registered forester in Arkansas.
 
Tim Gahl, Operations Manager
Tim joined FRC in October, 2006 with over 20 years experience managing forestry operations for various forest products companies in Georgia and South Carolina. His experience includes land management, silvicultural operations, marketing timber, and harvesting operations. Significant strengths include the ability to plan and implement budgets, organize resources to optimize returns, and interface with other parties to promote and protect interests and assets. Tim is a graduate of Michigan Technological University with a B.S. Degree in Forest Management. He is a past Board Member of the Liberty County Forestry Board, a past Board Member for Partners for Parks at Lake Warren State Park in South Carolina, and he has served on the Environmental Committee of the Georgia Forestry Association. He is a registered forester in Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina, and a Society of American Foresters Certified Forester. Tim manages our Lumpkin office.
 
Craig Russell, Account Manager
Craig joined FRC in December, 2007 with 15 years experience in the timber industry, both in land management and procurement. Craig graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Management. He is a registered forester in Georgia and Alabama and a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in Georgia. Craig manages our Eulonia office.
 
Dusty Warren, Fiber Logistics Manager
Dusty joined the FRC team in September, 2007. Prior to joining FRC, Dusty worked for Mead Corporation and MeadWestvaco for 16 years where he held a variety of jobs dealing with all aspects of forestry. Dusty was responsible for marketing and negotiating the sale of all outside timber sales from MeadWestvaco's 438,000 acre forest in Georgia and Alabama. He has an Associate of Applied Science in Forestry from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, a Bachelors of Business Administration from Columbus State University, and a Master's of Business Administration from Troy University. He is a registered forester in Georgia. Dusty's skills are an important asset in our Lumpkin office.
 
Brad Edmonds, Account Manager
Brad joined the FRC staff in October, 2003. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Management from Stephen F. Austin University and is a registered forester in Mississippi. His knowledge of forestry operations and technical processes make him a key person in the management of our Quitman office.

TECHNICAL/ ANALYTICAL SERVICES:
 
Dr. Jeffery L. Paschke, Senior Forest Analyst/ Technical Services
Jeff joined the FRC staff in 1995 and is primarily responsible for the firm’s analytical services, database management, and supporting the firm’s forest management and appraisal services. Jeff, a native of Indiana, received his undergraduate degree in Forestry from Purdue University in 1975 and his Master's and Ph.D. in Forest Genetics from North Carolina State University in 1981. Jeff’s experience in the forest industry includes eleven years of research and project management with emphasis upon enhancing operational productivity.
 
Jeff and the technical staff are responsible for the development of software and computer programs, as well as assisting in the firm's economic studies, investment analyses, and economic evaluations of forest practices. Jeff's operational experience and exceptional knowledge of the computing capability available today has allowed him to continue to develop and refine the most advanced computer software system (COM*TRAC/2000™) and technical department available to the private timberland owner. Jeff's analytical capability serves as an important source of confirmation and support for appraisals, forest management, and operational decisions, such as fertilization, thinning and harvest regimes, and harvest scheduling decisions under varying market conditions.
 
Julianne K. Bulgrin, GIS Analyst
Julie joined FRC in August of 2004 as a GIS Analyst. Julie graduated from Oregon State University in 1980 with a B.S. in Forest Management. Her experience includes time with the US Forest Service at the Pacific Northwest Research Station, followed by a stint with Weyerhaeuser where she most recently held the position of GIS/Forest Inventory Manager for Weyerhaeuser's Georgia operations. Julie's experiences with large mapping projects, coupled with her artistic abilities, have significantly added to FRC's capacity and capability.
 
Paul E. Nace, Technical Services Forester
Paul joined the FRC staff in May, 2011, as a Technical Services Forester. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Forest Management from Mississippi State University in 1988 and returned there to complete a Master’s degree in Forest Management and GIS in 1994. Paul worked for 17 years in industrial forestry with Potlatch Corporation, first managing the GIS operations for more than 500,000 acres in Arkansas for 14 years and then transferring to Spokane, Washington, to manage the GIS Analysis Team covering the entire 1.5 million acre land base. Paul brings experience in forest inventory techniques, spatial and tabular database management, growth and yield, programming in VBA and SQL, project management, and forestry software design and testing.
 
Roger Presnell, GIS Forester
Roger joined FRC in September, 2007 with over 33 years forestry experience, more recently with MeadWestvaco as a Geographic Information Systems Forester. Roger has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from LaGrange College and a Master of Forest Resources Degree from the University of Georgia. Roger is a registered forester in Georgia. Roger handles our GIS operations in our Lumpkin office.

FOREST MANAGEMENT AND APPRAISAL SUPPORT STAFF:
 
Phillip W. Smith, Senior Forester
Phil joined FRC in 1980 after brief employment with a forest products company. Phil has an Associate Degree in Forest Technology from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (1978). After passing the state examination, he qualifies as a registered forester in Georgia. Through his many years of experience, he has developed the ability to coordinate and manage most of the field projects executed on our clients’ properties and serves as immediate assistant to the account manager.
 
LaDon Watford, Senior Forester
LaDon joined the FRC staff in 1983 after graduating from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with an Associate Degree in Forest Technology. In 1990, LaDon passed the state exam qualifying him as a Georgia registered forester. LaDon has consistently been recognized for his achievement of excellence resulting from internal and external audits of his timber inventory procedures, and serves as FRC’s quality control auditor in addition to serving as immediate assistant to the account manager.
 
Donald Smith, Senior Forester
Donald joined the firm in September, 1995. He has an Associate Degree in Forest Technology from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He is a Georgia Registered Forester. He served in the National Guard Reserve and completed a year of active duty prior to coming to work with FRC. Donald's experience in all phases of forestry operation and a can-do attitude is an important asset to our Eulonia office.
 
Richard Barrett, Area Forester
Richard joined FRC in September, 2007 with over 35 years of forestry experience. During his career, he has worked in all aspects of wood procurement. As a land management technician and forester, he has gained a broad range of experience in cruising, reforestation, land and wood acquisition and most other aspects of industrial forest management. Richard works in our Lumpkin office.
 
Billy Hammock, Area Forester
Billy joined the FRC staff in October, 2007. He has over 30 years of land management and procurement experience with MeadWestvaco Alabama Timberlands and Georgia Kraft, Inc. Billy works in our Lumpkin office and is responsible for our Alabama operations.
 
Willard Roper, Area Forester
Willard joined FRC in October, 2007. Willard has over 36 years of field experience and has worked in all aspects of land management, wood procurement, and land acquisition, including 16 years of experience with Georgia Kraft, Inc. and 20 years with MeadWestvaco. Willard works in our Lumpkin office.
